Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton has extended an invitation to Hans Perez, a fan who was pelted with garbage for wearing a Haliburton jersey in New York, to attend Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. Perez, who went viral after the incident, appeared on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” where Haliburton surprised him with the offer. The Pacers will cover Perez’s travel and accommodation expenses, and he can bring a guest. This gesture follows a similar incident where ESPN’s Brian Windhorst was also hit with garbage by Knicks fans outside Madison Square Garden after the Knicks closed out their series with the Celtics. The Pacers and Knicks are set to begin their Eastern Conference finals series on Wednesday, with the first two games in New York before moving to Indiana. This marks the Knicks’ first appearance in the Eastern Conference finals since 2000, while the Pacers reached the conference finals last season but were defeated by the Boston Celtics. The series is a rematch from last year’s playoffs, where the Pacers defeated the Knicks in a seven-game series.
