PJ Haggerty, the nation’s third-leading scorer, has withdrawn from the 2025 NBA Draft and will transfer to Kansas State. Last season, Haggerty averaged 21.7 points for Memphis, earning AAC Player of the Year and second-team All-America honors. The 6-foot-3 guard also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.8 steals while shooting 36% on 107 3-point attempts.
Haggerty, 21, will be a redshirt junior, marking his fourth program in four seasons. He redshirted at TCU, played one season at Tulsa, and then joined Memphis. Under his leadership, Memphis finished 29-8, winning the AAC regular-season and conference tournament titles, though they lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Colorado State.
Haggerty’s father sought $4 million in NIL compensation, but he reportedly settled for less. Playing primarily at point guard was a significant factor in his decision, as he did not hold that role at Memphis. Although NBA Draft analyst Kevin O’Connor did not list Haggerty among the top 62 prospects, Haggerty performed well at the NBA Draft Combine, hitting 73% of his shots in individual drills and scoring 18 points with seven rebounds in a scrimmage.
